Tempest Rising

Tempest Rising by Slipgate Ironworks™ is a premium real-time strategy game set in a modern-day alternative history world. Inspired by RTS classics from the 90s and 2000s, it offers players the chance to command three unique factions, each with distinct combat and economic strategies. The game stands out with its Tempest vines mechanic, which both benefits and threatens the war-torn planet Earth. Players can engage in two 11-mission campaigns as the Global Defense Forces or Tempest Dynasty, each faction seeking to control the mysterious Tempest vines while facing hidden dangers.

Faction Strategies and Customization

In Tempest Rising, players can choose from three factions: the Global Defense Forces, Tempest Dynasty, and the upcoming Veti. Each faction provides a unique roster of units and strategies, allowing players to tailor their approach to combat and economy. The game supports deep customization options, enabling players to adapt their army for each mission. Whether in single-player campaigns or multiplayer modes, customization is key to mastering the game’s strategic demands.

Dynamic Multiplayer Modes

Tempest Rising offers various multiplayer experiences with its 1v1 and 2v2 matchmaking, as well as custom game lobbies against AI opponents. Players can engage in skirmish mode, controlling up to 500 units per team and utilizing two unique superweapons per faction. The Glicko-2 rating system powers the ranked matchmaking, allowing players to climb leaderboards and dominate the competition. With these multiplayer options, players can test their skills against others or hone their strategies in solo play.

The Tempest Vines Mechanic

A central feature of Tempest Rising is the mysterious Tempest vines that grow across the planet. As the Global Defense Forces and Tempest Dynasty vie for control over these beneficial yet dangerous vines, the game reveals the origin and impact of the Tempest. This mechanic adds depth to the gameplay, influencing both the story and strategic decisions as players navigate the challenges of this alternative history setting.
